Add your files

Your files are not uploaded. Edivo works with them on this computer.

Add files

On the Start screen: press + (Ctrl+O), or drop files on it.
In the editor: Media › Add files, or drop files on the timeline to place them where you drop. Files dropped elsewhere are added to Media.
A script or notes file (.txt, .md, .srt, .vtt) goes to the AI as a note, not to Media. See File purposes and notes.
Folders: Edivo offers Add to My library and imports the media inside, sub-folders too, in the background.

Start editing straight away

The card says	Means
Waiting in line or Reading the file…	Edivo is checking the file. A few seconds
Ready to edit	Put it on the timeline, cut and trim it now
Preview N % and About N min left	Edivo is making a smoother preview copy in the background

Until the preview copy is ready, the preview plays the original and says Smoother playback soon.
A few tools wait for the import, for example voice effects, reverse and freeze. They say When its import finishes.
The export always uses your original file.

Which files work

Files can be up to 20 GB each.

If a file cannot be added

Message	What it means
This is a playlist or a shortcut, not a video	Add the file itself
Only videos, photos, music, sound effects and voice recordings can be added	Other file types are not used
Files can be up to 20 GB	The file is too large
Can't open name	The file is damaged, empty or not a media file. It stays on the card until you remove it
