Help and questions
Short answers about Edivo, your projects, accounts and the AI. Edivo is coming soon for Windows, so some answers start at launch. Can't find yours? Email hello@edivo.ai.
Getting started
When can I install Edivo?
At launch. Edivo isn't ready to download yet; it's coming soon for Windows. Leave your email and we'll send one message when it is.
What do I need to run it?
- Windows, 64-bit, on an Intel or AMD processor. Windows on ARM isn't supported. Which Windows versions are supported is confirmed on the release.
- Memory and disk space: measured on the release and published at launch.
- Graphics card: helps, but isn't needed. Tools such as background removal use it when there is one, and the processor when not.
- Internet: only for the AI, signing in, and the first use of some tools.
Why does a tool download something the first time?
Some tools run an AI model on your computer, and Edivo fetches each model the first time you use that tool, so the installer stays smaller. Background removal, for example, downloads about 26 MB once. Each model is checked against a fixed fingerprint before it's used.
How do I start my first video?
On the start screen, add your clips and describe what you want, for example "a 30-second TikTok of my weekend, ending on the sunset", then choose Make my video. Or choose I'll edit it myself to start on the timeline. The AI part needs an account; the editor doesn't.
How do I remove Edivo?
Open Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, find Edivo and choose Uninstall. The uninstaller asks whether to delete your projects and settings too; it keeps them unless you say yes.
Your projects
Where are my projects saved?
On your computer, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Edivo. Paste that into the address bar of File Explorer to open it. The folder holds your projects and their history, the media you imported and your exports, your settings, and the tool models Edivo downloaded. Your original files aren't uploaded, and your projects are saved only on your computer; here's what the AI gets.
Do I need to save?
No. Edivo saves every edit as you make it. There's no Save button.
Can I go back to an earlier version?
Yes. Version history lists earlier versions of a project, and you can restore one. A project you delete goes to the trash first, and you can restore it from there.
How do I back up a project, or move it to another computer?
Back the project up to a single file from the app, copy that file wherever you like, and restore it in Edivo on the other computer. You can also duplicate a project to try something without touching the original.
What if Edivo closes unexpectedly?
Your edits up to that moment are already saved, so reopen Edivo and carry on. Edivo's crash reports stay on your computer unless you choose to send one to us: Edivo shows you the report first, and sends nothing until you press Send.
Accounts and sign-in
Do I need an account?
Only for the AI. Editing, exporting and your projects work without one.
How do I sign in?
Accounts open at launch. You'll sign in from the app when you first ask the AI for an edit: enter your email address, and Edivo sends you a 6-digit code to type in. There's no password to remember.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, under your account. It's removed 14 days later, and until then you can change your mind. Deleting it cancels your plan. Your projects stay on your computer, and the editor keeps working without an account.
Can I get a copy of my account data?
Yes. Ask for it from your account in the app, and download it as a file within 7 days.
Plans and credits
What do the plans include?
The editor will be free. A plan adds the AI, with AI credits each month. Plans start at launch; Pricing shows the planned prices.
What are AI credits?
Every AI request uses credits; a first cut from many clips uses more than a quick change. A plan's credits come each month. If you run out, the AI stops and keeps what it made so far. How many credits each plan brings is published at launch. How credits work.
Privacy and your footage
What leaves my computer?
Your original files stay on your computer, and so do editing and export. When you ask the AI for an edit, it gets what that request needs: your words, the edit so far, an analysis of your clips (such as shots, speech and beats), parts of the transcript, a few still frames and short excerpts. Our AI providers process them for us and send back a plan. The AI is switched on at launch; then we name each provider and what it keeps. The full picture.
What about stock footage and statistics?
Stock footage search is off until you turn it on; then your search words go to the stock library. Usage statistics are off by default.
Does this website track me?
No. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and loads nothing from other companies. Details.
Mac, Linux and phones
Does Edivo work on a Mac?
Not yet. A Mac version is coming after the Windows version; there's no date yet. Leave your email and we'll send one message when it's ready.
Linux, ChromeOS, phones or tablets?
Edivo is a Windows desktop app. A Linux or ChromeOS version and a phone app are not planned.
