Voice and audio effects

Made on this computer. No credits. You hear the same sound in the export.

Change a voice

  1. Select the voice-over or the clip with someone talking.
  2. Right-click it (or More) and choose Voice effects…. It is also in the inspector's Audio tab (Ctrl+Alt+I), right under Volume.
  3. Press a tile, for example Deep. It applies at once and plays 4 seconds of the clip with the effect.
  4. Adjust the sliders under the tiles if you like. Listen plays it again.

For a song or a sound effect the same place is called Audio effects….

7 more details
  • One effect per clip. Each press, slider change and Remove is one Undo step (Ctrl+Z).
  • Slowed + reverb, Sped up and the Speed slider change the clip's length.
  • Character changes how big a voice sounds without changing its pitch: lower sounds bigger, higher sounds smaller.
  • A compound clip can't take an effect itself: open it and put the effect on the clips inside. See Compound clips.
  • A locked clip says Unlock this clip first.
  • To make one mic sound like another, use Match voice instead. To remove background noise, use Audio › Reduce noise in the left rail.
  • The AI can apply these too ("make my voice deep"); that is an AI edit and uses credits.
