A transition softens or styles the cut between two clips.
Add one
Point at the cut between two clips on the timeline. A small + appears at the bottom of the cut.
Click the +. A picker opens by the cut with your recent and popular transitions. Hover a tile to see it play.
Click a transition. It goes on the cut at once; press Ctrl+Z to undo.

The + shows only where both clips are wide enough to hold it. Zoomed far out, zoom in or use the right-click menu.
No + next to a locked clip. Unlock the clip first.
A transition plays over a little footage from both clips. If a clip has no spare footage, the two clips overlap for it and the video gets a little shorter; the message says by how much.
If the clips are too short even overlapped, Edivo says so and offers the longest length that fits as one click (Use 0.2 s).
A tile that can't go on what you selected says why when you point at it, for example "A clip at this cut is locked".
Fade through black works on cuts in the main story. On overlay tracks use a dissolve or a wipe.
Changing a clip's speed can stop a transition from fitting: Edivo says so and suggests speeds that fit, or remove the transition first.
Items that are not on your computer yet show a small download mark (point at it for its pack's size). Click one: it downloads and goes on in one go. Offline, the mark changes and the message offers Try again. Built-in packs never need internet. Manage packs under Settings › Content packs.
If the project changed in another window just before, the message offers Load it and add: it loads those edits, then adds the item.
The inspector's Cut transitions (a cut selected) has the same choices plus easing and strength. Apply and Remove save at once, with Undo in the message.
Ask the AI to add transitions in the chat if you prefer. That is an AI edit and uses credits; you can undo every change.
