Steps
- Select the video clip and open the inspector's Video tab. The inspector opens with Inspector above the preview, or Ctrl+Alt+I.
- Under Stabilize, turn on Smooth camera shake.
- Pick a Strength.
- Wait while it analyses the motion. You can keep editing; it applies by itself when ready.
- Crop edges (on) zooms in just enough to hide the moving edges. Turn it off to keep the full frame.
Which strength?

4 more details
- Undo with Ctrl+Z, or turn Smooth camera shake off to go back to the original footage. Trims, speed, effects and timing stay. Cancel stops the analysis.
- It works on the original footage: not on reversed, sped-up or cut-out copies, or footage with a transparent background. Up to ten minutes per clip.
- In Media, the copy keeps the clip's name with a Stabilized tag on its picture.
- The preview and the export use the same stabilized copy. It does not correct rolling-shutter wobble.
