Things to try
| Do this | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Keep editing, or leave it running | You can work while it runs. The file uses the video as it was when you pressed Export |
| Keep Settings › Speed on Fastest (the usual) | MP4 made with your graphics card's video encoder when one works. The file can be bigger. The note under it says whether one works here |
| Choose a smaller size or lower quality (Custom export, Advanced mode) | Fewer pixels to make |
| Try Quick draft for a feedback copy | A small file, made quickly |
| Close other heavy programs | Exports need memory and processor time |
| Use fewer long 4K clips, or export a part (Export in to out) | Less to make |
What always takes longer
| HDR, or another size, shape or frame rate than the video's | Made, then converted: one more pass |
|---|---|
| WebM | Its encoder is slower |
| Masks, colour controls, wipes, adjustment layers, stabilizing and big 4K sources | More work per frame |
| No graphics card that works | Made without it: slower |
| Try again, using less memory | Slower on purpose |
5 more details
- After a stop, a new try picks up where it stopped: "N of M parts were already done".
- Smallest file takes longer than Fastest.
- Preparing your files can come first: "Getting your files ready, N of M done. Your export starts by itself."
- If the graphics card cannot make the picture, Edivo makes it without the graphics card by itself. Same picture, longer. See GPU export and fallback.
- Export speed depends on your computer.
