Give the AI a script or notes
- Press + on the Start screen or in the AI chat. Its tooltip reads Add files: videos, photos, scripts.
- Pick a .txt, .md, .srt or .vtt file. Videos and photos in the same pick go to your media as usual.
- The file shows as a chip under Files for the AI.
- Send your message. The AI reads the file as instructions. It is not added to your video.
| File types | .txt, .md, .srt, .vtt |
|---|---|
| How many | Up to 3 per request |
| How long | About 7 pages together |
In the editor, a script you add with Media › Add files, or drop on the editor, opens the AI tab with its chip.
Tell the AI what a file is for
- In Media, open a file's ⋯ menu and choose Use as….
- Pick one:
| Choice | The AI |
|---|---|
| Use in the video | Uses it as usual. This is the default, with no label |
| Reference only | Looks at it for style, pacing or look, and never puts it in the video |
| Logo / brand | Uses it as a logo or watermark where it fits. Not offered for sound |
| Custom note… | Reads your note, up to 200 characters. For example: "use only the last 5 seconds, as the outro" |
- The file's card shows a small label: Reference, Logo or Note. Point at it for the full meaning. Its × removes it.
Each change is one Undo step (Ctrl+Z).
7 more details
- Reference only limits the AI, not you: you can still put the file in the video by hand.
- A file that is already in the video stays where it is used; the AI adds no more of it.
- Add all to the video leaves Reference only files out.
- Add a reference… in Media adds a file as a reference straight away. Its card shows Reference without a ×.
- Advanced: a timeline item's menu has Use as… too.
- Use as… is not offered for fonts.
- Notes and file purposes go to the AI with your request, like the words you type. See What is sent to the cloud.
